My commitment to adoption is far more than just a dedication to a high-level of service in the practice of law. It is a passion! This passion developed first from being an adoptive parent myself and then from the experience of handling hundreds of adoptions over my forty year practice of law.
In 1983 and again in 1986, my wife, Ann, and I adopted new born infants. Both of our boys gave us the great joys of parenthood. They have now matured into fine young men. This personal involvement has given me a unique understanding and appreciation of adoption and the adoptive process. My legal experience has included representing both birth parents and adoptive parents in private placement adoptions, agency adoptions, interstate compact adoptions, foreign adoptions, step-parent adoptions, foster parent adoptions, and adoptions for same sex couples. I am also experienced in legal agreements regarding surrogates and embryo donations.
During my career, I have given lectures on adoption law at the Northern Kentucky Bar Association and at the Kentucky Bar Association. I have also given lectures on adoption for private groups.. I am always happy to sit down with prospective adoptive parents or birth parents to discuss adoption, with no charge or obligation.
I am a Northern Kentucky native and have lived here all my life, except during my college and law school years. I earned my undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University and my law degree at the Wake Forest School of Law. I was admitted to the practice of law in Kentucky in 1976 and in Ohio in 1990.
As an attorney, I feel blessed to be able to help build loving families through the process of adoption. If you are interested in adopting a child, or if you are pregnant and want to find a good home for your baby, please let me help you through this process.
